Celebrant's explained with Olivia Coleman
What is a celebrant?
A Celebrant is an individual who creates and officiates ceremonies, most commonly Weddings, Namings and Funerals.
What should I expect when I hire a celebrant?
A totally bespoke and completely personal ceremony. When you hire me, you get that plus much more! I cannot help myself from investing in your big day, I want to hear all about you and how you see every detail from walking down the aisle to the morning after the night before. I offer various services alongside my Celebrancy, but regardless of service hired, I offer total commitment and passion, which comes for free!
What type of ceremonies do you offer and how does it differ to a traditional wedding?
I am available for Funerals and also Naming Ceremonies but most commonly I am hired to create and officiate Weddings. The best thing about a Celebrant led ceremony is that you can have whatever you want however you want. If you would like something traditional, then great. Alternatively we can incorporate rituals, spirituality, different faiths, music, readings etc The options are endless, and best of all catered to you as individuals and as a couple so the ceremony your guests witness is so special and unique.
Are there any limitations to having a celebrant led wedding?
Absolutely not! At the moment Celebrant led weddings are not legal in England, which means we are not restricted by legal barriers. Unlike with a member of the Clergy or the council I can offer you a ceremony anywhere. A legal wedding has to take place in a venue with a license, which also has to be set to a certain location contained by four walls. With me, we could have your ceremony outside, in the gardens, wherever feels right for you two.
What are the benefits to having a celebrant?
The best bits about a Celebrant led wedding would be the ability to have it anywhere and it being a completely unique personal ceremony. Once we have met we have countless conversations where I really get to know you. I then write from scratch your ceremony until you are absolutely happy with it. This means that there is no one in the world who will be married the same way as you.
What makes your service different to other celebrants out there?
I absolutely LOVE what I do. I have years of experience in the wedding industry and so my advice and guidance is not just limited to the ceremony. I make every effort to get to know you, to listen to you in what you want and how you want it delivered. My ceremonies are all unique but all have equal parts romance and humour, two attributes I consider paramount to a happy marriage!
